Chicago Writing Contest Ending Soon—Juxtapositions
Prizes: $4,000 in writing contracts and 30 free hotel nights in Chicago
Time is running out to enter our writing contest—get your entries in soon! Trazzler has teamed up with Explore Chicago set up our three editorial winners as writers in residence in the city’s most happening neighborhoods.
The theme is “juxtapositions,” which is just a fancy way of getting folks to write about places with interesting contrasts and thought-provoking diversity. You don’t have to write about Chicago—though the city certainly is teeming with fascinating juxtapositions—feel free to write about any place in the world. Adventure Assignment in Whitefish, Montana
This gig isn’t quite like our others—it’s an adventure. The Whitefish Visitor Bureau has invited a Trazzler writer to take the train (from Chicago or Seattle or points in between on Amtrak’s Empire Builder line) to the heart of the Montana Rockies. The writer will spend four nights visiting the town, ski resort, and surrounding mountains including Glacier National Park, and research and write 10 short articles (65-120 words each). The good folks in Whitefish will provide four nights of free lodging, train tickets, a rental car, meals, lift tickets, ski rentals, ski lessons, and other perks—and we’ll work with you to find the most interesting Trazzler-worthy places and activities in the area. Both the trip and writing will be completed in March 2011.
